Distinguished by his insightful interpretations and musical versatility, pianist Stefan Petrov performs regularly as a soloist and collaborative pianist in Eastern Europe and North America. His recitals have been broadcast on TV and radio stations across Eastern Europe, the United States, and Canada. In addition, his strong interest in modern music has compelled him to actively collaborate with contemporary music performers and composers.
Stefan began his piano studies at age six in his hometown of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He played his solo debut at age nine and made his first orchestral appearance at age fourteen. After moving to the United States in 2000, he continued his piano studies with Neil Rutman and later, Ellen Mack. In addition, Stefan has had the opportunity to work with renowned musicians including Eric Heidsieck, Vladimir Feltsman, and Pamela Frank.
Stefan holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Peabody Conservatory, where he continues his studies as Doctoral Candidate in the studio of Ellen Mack. Stefan performs regularly with Israeli cellist Amit Peled.
